We were looking for a supportive, durable mattress with a pillow top that wouldn't break down so quickly (we found out the hard way that the pillow top is the first thing to go). Everything we were reading about latex convinced us that was what we wanted, since it is soft yet supportive, very durable, and doesn't sleep hot like memory foam. Unfortunately, you just can't find an innerspring mattress with a built-in latex pillow top, or even one with more than an inch of latex in the pillow top (and those cost $$$). Our mattress was less than 1 year old and we felt it was ridiculous to buy another one so soon. Plus the soft mattresses we have tried in the past gave out too quickly (a lot of sagging in the middle). We thought the firm mattress would hold up better. It has, but with painful side effects. Our firm mattress, plus this topper is the combination we have been looking for. Our mattress is holding up great, and the topper gives us the comfort we need.Highly recommended!!!! |
